Stack buffer overflow in Ivanti access products allows unauthenticated RCE

Free public brief. The indicators, the detections with Splunk SPL already written (plus Elastic and KQL where they apply), and a Slack alert the next time this touches a vendor you run are in the app — free account, no card.

Unauthenticated remote code execution in Ivanti Connect Secure, Policy Secure, and ZTA gateways; CVE-2025-0282 is actively exploited.

Ivanti has disclosed multiple vulnerabilities in its remote access and network access control products, with the most critical being a stack-based buffer overflow in Ivanti Connect Secure (before 22.7R2.5), Ivanti Policy Secure (before 22.7R1.2), and Ivanti Neurons for Zero Trust Access gateways (before 22.7R2.3). CVE-2025-0282 allows unauthenticated remote attackers to achieve remote code execution by exploiting the buffer overflow in a public-facing application, leading to execution in system context. A second vulnerability, CVE-2025-0283, is a similar stack-based buffer overflow affecting the same products that requires local authenticated access but allows privilege escalation. Ivanti has confirmed active exploitation of CVE-2025-0282 in the wild. An attacker gaining code execution could install programs, modify or delete data, and escalate privileges depending on the system's privilege context. Immediate patching is critical for all affected systems, particularly those exposed on the internet.

What this brief leaves out

This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.

It sits in a corpus of 13,854 reports from 146 sources, 616 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.

A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
