Ivanti CSA auth bypass and RCE flaws disclosed
Free public brief. The indicators, the detections with Splunk SPL already written (plus Elastic and KQL where they apply), and a Slack alert the next time this touches a vendor you run are in the app — free account, no card.
Three unauthenticated-to-RCE vulnerabilities in Ivanti Cloud Services Application 5.0.2 and prior; no active exploitation reported.
Ivanti has disclosed three vulnerabilities in Cloud Services Application (CSA) versions 5.0.2 and prior. The most critical is CVE-2024-11639, an authentication bypass in the admin web console that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to gain administrative access. Combined with CVE-2024-11772, a command injection flaw requiring admin privileges, attackers can achieve remote code execution. A third vulnerability, CVE-2024-11773, allows SQL injection in the admin console. Successful RCE exploitation permits installation of programs, data viewing, modification, or deletion depending on system privilege context.
No active exploitation in the wild has been reported at the time of disclosure. Ivanti has released version 5.0.3 to address these issues. The advisory recommends immediate patching, implementation of least-privilege access controls, network segmentation, and vulnerability scanning to detect exploitable instances. Organizations running CSA should treat authentication bypass plus RCE chain as urgent remediation priority.

Detection guidance
Linux Web Server Process Spawning Shell With Download or Recon Commands
Web server or PHP worker spawning a shell that runs download, reverse-shell or recon commands, consistent with command injection RCE in a public-facing admin console such as an Ivanti CSA exploit chain. Auto-generated starting point — validate and tune in your environment before deploying. IOC matches can false-positive on shared infrastructure and decay as adversary infrastructure rotates.
title: Linux Web Server Process Spawning Shell With Download or Recon Commands

status: experimental
description: Detects a web server or PHP process (apache2, httpd, php-fpm, nginx)
spawning a shell whose command line contains download, reverse-shell or recon commands.
Behaviour expected after command injection in a web admin console (for example CVE-2024-11772
chained with the CVE-2024-11639 auth bypass on Ivanti CSA). Generalises on the parent/child
relation, not on specific URIs or payloads.

SQL Injection Patterns in Web Admin Console Request Query
Web server requests whose query string contains common SQL injection constructs, relevant to SQL injection in public-facing admin consoles such as CVE-2024-11773. Auto-generated starting point — validate and tune in your environment before deploying. IOC matches can false-positive on shared infrastructure and decay as adversary infrastructure rotates.

Tune to the CSA host or admin console virtual host and review volume before alerting
broadly.

What this brief leaves out
This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.
It sits in a corpus of 13,854 reports from 146 sources, 614 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.
A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
