Oracle PeopleSoft multiple vulnerabilities enable RCE
Free public brief. The indicators, the detections with Splunk SPL already written (plus Elastic and KQL where they apply), and a Slack alert the next time this touches a vendor you run are in the app — free account, no card.
Multiple vulnerabilities in Oracle PeopleSoft allow remote code execution, data breach, and denial of service.
Oracle PeopleSoft contains multiple security vulnerabilities affecting several product versions and modules. These flaws enable remote attackers to execute arbitrary code, compromise data confidentiality and integrity, and trigger denial-of-service conditions. The vulnerabilities affect PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools versions 8.61 through 8.63, CC Common Application Objects version 9.2, and several regional variants including FIN Engineering Brazil, FIN Inventory Brazil, and PRTL Interaction Hub version 9.1. Affected organizations must apply the security patches referenced in Oracle's September 2026 security bulletin (cspusep2026) to remediate the identified CVEs.

Detection guidance
PeopleSoft or WebLogic Java Process Spawning Windows Shell
Java process hosting PeopleSoft/WebLogic spawning cmd, PowerShell or LOLBins, indicating web-tier RCE exploitation. Auto-generated starting point — validate and tune in your environment before deploying. IOC matches can false-positive on shared infrastructure and decay as adversary infrastructure rotates.
title: PeopleSoft or WebLogic Java Process Spawning Windows Shell
id: aa663f49-418c-5982-bba7-115aac4a6ec6
status: experimental
description: Detects a Java process hosting Oracle PeopleSoft / WebLogic (PIA web
tier) spawning a command interpreter or common download/execution LOLBin. This is
post-exploitation behaviour following remote code execution in PeopleSoft components.
Matches the parent/child relation, not specific CVE payloads.

What this brief leaves out
This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.
It sits in a corpus of 13,854 reports from 146 sources, 616 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.
A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
