CISA KEV Adds Fortinet, BeyondTrust Flaws

high vulnerability government-national

Free public brief. The indicators, the detections with Splunk SPL already written (plus Elastic and KQL where they apply), and a Slack alert the next time this touches a vendor you run are in the app — free account, no card.

CISA added two actively exploited vulnerabilities—a Fortinet path traversal bug and a BeyondTrust Remote Support auth bypass—to its KEV catalog.

CISA has added two vulnerabilities to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) Catalog based on confirmed evidence of active exploitation: CVE-2025-61624, a path traversal vulnerability affecting multiple Fortinet products, and CVE-2026-102764, an authentication bypass by spoofing vulnerability in BeyondTrust Remote Support. Neither the specific exploitation details, affected version ranges, nor threat actor attribution are provided in this bulletin; organizations should consult Fortinet's and BeyondTrust's respective advisories for patch guidance and affected product versions.

Under Binding Operational Directive (BOD) 26-04, Federal Civilian Executive Branch (FCEB) agencies are required to prioritize remediation of KEV-listed vulnerabilities on publicly exposed assets that grant total control post-exploitation, and to check for prior compromise before patching. While the directive is mandatory only for FCEB agencies, CISA recommends all organizations running affected Fortinet products or BeyondTrust Remote Support treat these as high-priority patching items given confirmed in-the-wild exploitation.

Defenders should inventory any Fortinet appliances and BeyondTrust Remote Support deployments, apply vendor patches immediately, and review logs for signs of path traversal attempts against Fortinet products or anomalous authentication events indicating spoofing against BeyondTrust Remote Support, consistent with BOD 26-04's compromise-assessment requirement.

What this brief leaves out

This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.

It sits in a corpus of 13,854 reports from 146 sources, 616 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.

A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
