Google releases September 2026 Android security patch addressing multiple vulnerabilities allowing remote code execution, privilege escalation, and data theft.

CERT-FR reports multiple vulnerabilities discovered in Google Android affecting versions 14, 15, 16, 16-qpr2, and 17. The vulnerabilities enable remote code execution, privilege escalation, data confidentiality breach, data integrity compromise, and denial of service. Google released security patches on 5 and 7 September 2026. The advisory references 172 CVEs across the affected Android versions. Defenders should apply the September 2026 Android security patch immediately. Specific technical details regarding exploit availability or active in-the-wild exploitation are not provided in the advisory, but the breadth of vulnerabilities affecting multiple Android versions and the range of impact (RCE, elevation of privilege, data theft) underscores the criticality of timely patching. Device manufacturers and carriers should prioritize deployment of the security update to all supported devices.

What this brief leaves out

This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.

It sits in a corpus of 13,853 reports from 146 sources, 616 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.

A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
