Multiple vulnerabilities in Spring products disclosed

routine vulnerability technology

Free public brief. The indicators, the detections with Splunk SPL already written (plus Elastic and KQL where they apply), and a Slack alert the next time this touches a vendor you run are in the app — free account, no card.

Multiple Spring Framework and related product vulnerabilities allow privilege escalation, DoS, and data confidentiality breaches.

CERT-FR has published an advisory documenting multiple vulnerabilities across the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Framework, Spring LDAP, Reactor Netty, Spring REST Docs, and Spring Retry. The vulnerabilities affect multiple major and minor versions across these products and enable attackers to achieve privilege escalation, cause remote denial of service, bypass security policies, and compromise data confidentiality.

Affected versions include Spring Framework 5.3.x before 5.3.49, 6.1.x before 6.1.28, 6.2.x before 6.2.19 (open source) or 6.2.18.1 (commercial), and 7.0.x before 7.0.8 (open source) or 7.0.7.1 (commercial). Spring LDAP versions span from 2.4.x through 4.0.x with specific patch versions listed. Reactor Netty and other supporting libraries are similarly affected across multiple version branches. Organizations should immediately apply available patches from the Spring project security advisories referenced in the documentation.

What this brief leaves out

This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.

It sits in a corpus of 13,854 reports from 146 sources, 616 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.

A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
