CERT-FR advisory covering 80+ CVEs in Azure Linux 3 kernel, libarchive, libreswan, libtiff, and nginx requiring immediate updates.

CERT-FR has published a security advisory for multiple vulnerabilities discovered in Microsoft Azure Linux (azl3). The affected components include the kernel (6.6.139.1-1 and earlier), libarchive (3.7.7-6 and earlier), libreswan (4.15-1 and earlier), libtiff (4.6.0-13 and earlier), and nginx (1.28.3-6 and earlier). Microsoft has released patched versions addressing all identified CVEs across a series of bulletins published between 27 June and 9 July 2026.

The advisory does not provide specific attack impact details, severity ratings, or CVSS scores from Microsoft, only referencing that vulnerabilities allow attackers to cause unspecified security problems. Organizations running Azure Linux 3 instances should prioritize updating affected packages to the patched versions: kernel 6.6.143.1-1 or later, libarchive 3.7.7-7 or later, libreswan 4.15-2 or later, libtiff 4.6.0-14 or later, and nginx 1.28.3-7 or later.

Defenders should inventory systems running these components and apply updates according to their change-management procedures. The breadth of affected packages suggests this represents a routine maintenance cycle rather than a critical emergency, but prompt patching remains advisable for systems exposed to untrusted input or network access.

What this brief leaves out

This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.

It sits in a corpus of 13,853 reports from 146 sources, 616 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.

A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
