Multiple Azure vulnerabilities enable RCE and privilege escalation

Five CVEs in Azure Arc, CycleCloud, HDInsight, CLI and Spring Cloud allow remote code execution and privilege escalation; patches available.

CERT-FR has published an advisory covering multiple vulnerabilities discovered across Microsoft Azure components dated 8 September 2026. The affected products include Azure Arc SQL Server Extension, Azure CycleCloud, Azure HDInsight, Microsoft Azure CLI, and Spring Cloud Azure. These vulnerabilities enable attackers to achieve three distinct impacts: remote code execution, privilege escalation, and data confidentiality breaches. Defenders should prioritize updating affected Azure components to the minimum versions specified: Azure Arc SQL Server Extension to 1.1.3518.465 or later, Azure CycleCloud to 8.9.2 or later, Azure HDInsight to 2606012120 or later, Microsoft Azure CLI to 2.2.1 or later, and Spring Cloud Azure to 7.4.0 or later. The advisory references five distinct CVEs (CVE-2026-62895, CVE-2026-69854, CVE-2026-77909, CVE-2026-81349, CVE-2026-83948), with full details available in the corresponding Microsoft security bulletins.

What this brief leaves out

This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.

It sits in a corpus of 13,854 reports from 146 sources, 616 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.

A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
