Hitachi Energy patches MicroSCADA X SYS600 flaws

routine vulnerability Energy

Free public brief. Slack alerts on the vendors you run come with the paid plans, and a new account gets three days of them, no card.

Hitachi Energy discloses four vulnerabilities in MicroSCADA X SYS600 versions up to 10.8, no known in-the-wild exploitation.

CISA republished a Hitachi Energy PSIRT advisory describing four vulnerabilities (CVE-2026-9852, CVE-2026-9853, CVE-2026-9854, and a duplicate CVE-2026-9853 reference) affecting MicroSCADA X SYS600 versions up to and including 10.7 and version 10.8. MicroSCADA X SYS600 is a SCADA platform used in the energy sector worldwide, with Hitachi Energy headquartered in Switzerland. The advisory does not provide technical details on the vulnerability types, attack vectors, or specific impacts beyond stating they 'can be exploited to carry out various attacks on the product.'

The vulnerabilities were reported to CISA by researchers at Sandia National Laboratories' CyTRICS program (Zachary Andrew Wagner, Steven Nicolais, and Timotius Oetnung), indicating a coordinated disclosure through a government research initiative rather than active exploitation in the wild. No exploitation has been reported. CISA's standard ICS mitigation guidance applies: minimize network exposure, isolate control system networks behind firewalls, avoid direct internet connectivity, and use VPNs with awareness of their own risks for necessary remote access.

Defenders operating MicroSCADA X SYS600 in energy sector environments should identify affected installations (versions ≤10.7 and 10.8) and consult Hitachi Energy PSIRT advisory 8DBD000249 directly for patch availability and specific remediation steps, as the CISA republication does not include fix details.

What this brief leaves out

This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries live profiles of the CVEs it names. The paid plans add the security research and news reporting the free tier leaves out.

It sits in a corpus of 13,702 reports from 144 sources, 534 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.

A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Slack alerts are a paid-plan feature: name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
