Red Hat patches dozens of Linux kernel flaws

routine vulnerability

Free public brief. The indicators, the detections with Splunk and KQL already written, and a Slack alert the next time this touches a vendor you run are in the app — free account, no card.

CERT-FR advisory lists over 100 Linux kernel vulnerabilities in Red Hat Enterprise Linux enabling remote code execution, privilege escalation and denial of service.

CERT-FR has published an advisory consolidating multiple Red Hat Security Advisories (RHSA) issued between October 2 and October 9, 2026, covering a large batch of Linux kernel vulnerabilities affecting nearly all current and extended-support Red Hat Enterprise Linux product lines (versions 7 through 10.2) across x86_64, aarch64, s390x and ppc64le architectures, including CodeReady Linux Builder, Real Time, and SAP Solutions variants.

The vulnerabilities span a wide range of impacts: remote code execution, local privilege escalation, remote denial of service, data integrity and confidentiality breaches, and security policy bypass. No specific exploitation details, proof-of-concept code, or in-the-wild exploitation are mentioned in the advisory; it is a standard aggregated patch notice referencing 14 separate RHSA bulletins.

Defenders running affected Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions should prioritize applying the referenced RHSA updates according to their asset criticality, particularly for systems exposed to untrusted networks or supporting multi-tenant workloads where privilege escalation or RCE kernel bugs carry the highest risk. No active exploitation has been reported for these CVEs at the time of publication.

What this brief leaves out

This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections with the Splunk SPL and Microsoft KQL already written, the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.

It sits in a corpus of 11,164 reports from 148 sources, 494 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.

A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
