Improper resource locking in B&R Automation Runtime System Diagnostics Manager allows unauthenticated network DoS; patches available.

ABB's Product Security Incident Response Team has disclosed CVE-2025-3450, an improper resource locking vulnerability in the System Diagnostics Manager (SDM) component of B&R Automation Runtime affecting versions before 6.3 and before Q4.93. An unauthenticated network-based attacker with access to an affected system's network can craft and send a specially crafted message to trigger data deletion and cause the controller to stop, resulting in denial of service. The SDM is a web-accessible diagnostic interface exposed over the Automation Runtime webserver.

The vulnerability requires network access to the affected system but does not require authentication. ABB states the SDM is disabled by default in Automation Runtime 6.0 and later, limiting exposure for newer deployments. Organizations running affected versions with SDM enabled—particularly in chemical, energy, manufacturing, critical infrastructure, healthcare, water/wastewater, and communications sectors—should prioritize patching to version 6.3 or Q4.93. At the time of disclosure, there were no reports of active exploitation or public disclosure; however, the remote exploitability and denial-of-service impact make this a concern for production control systems.

What this brief leaves out

This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.

It sits in a corpus of 13,854 reports from 146 sources, 616 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.

A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
