> NCSC-NL warns of an actively exploited Ivanti Connect Secure zero-day allowing unauthenticated remote command execution via authentication bypass.

The Dutch National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC-NL) issued a high-priority advisory for a zero-day vulnerability in Ivanti Connect Secure, classified as an Authentication Bypass by Spoofing flaw. Ivanti has confirmed it is aware of reports that the vulnerability has been exploited in the wild as a zero-day prior to patch availability. Successful exploitation allows an unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the vulnerable system, representing a severe risk given Connect Secure's role as an internet-facing VPN/remote-access gateway.

No public proof-of-concept or exploit code is currently available, but NCSC-NL explicitly warns that PoC code is expected shortly, which would significantly increase the risk of mass exploitation—consistent with the historical pattern of rapid, widespread attacks against Ivanti edge devices following disclosure. Ivanti has released updates to remediate the vulnerability.

Defenders running Ivanti Connect Secure should prioritize immediate patching, review the referenced Ivanti advisory for affected versions and the specific CVE identifier, and check systems for indicators of prior compromise given the confirmed in-the-wild exploitation before a fix was available. Given Connect Secure's exposure as a perimeter VPN appliance and its track record as a high-value target for sophisticated intrusion sets, organizations should treat this as an urgent, high-priority patching action and monitor for anomalous authentication events and command execution on these devices.
