Mira Hormone Monitor has multiple flaws
CISA disclosed eight vulnerabilities in Mira's hormone-monitoring device and Android app that could let attackers hijack accounts, steal or forge reproductive health data, and disrupt the device via BLE.
CISA published an ICS medical advisory detailing eight vulnerabilities affecting Quanovate Tech's Mira Hormone Monitor firmware (v1.7.1.47) and companion Android app (v4.5.15.4). The flaws span weak or missing authentication over Bluetooth Low Energy, hard-coded credential exposure, a broken cloud login endpoint that accepts any password format and returns a valid session token, lack of brute-force protection, and session token leakage through in-app WebView traffic. Combined, these issues allow a nearby attacker (within BLE range) to silently rebind a device to an attacker-controlled account, extract cleartext hormone measurements, inject forged data into a user's clinical record, or crash the device into bootloader mode. A separate cloud-side authentication flaw allows attackers to fully take over accounts using just an email address.
The vulnerabilities were responsibly disclosed by researchers at Northeastern University's SPQR Lab, and no known public exploitation has been reported. Quanovate has released fixed firmware (v01.07.01.53) and app versions (iOS v3.5.18 / Android v4.5.18) which are pushed automatically when the device connects, requiring no additional user action. Given the sensitivity of reproductive health data involved and the broad worldwide deployment of the product, this advisory carries privacy and safety implications for healthcare consumers, though the low BLE proximity requirement and lack of active exploitation limit real-world urgency.
