Chained certificate-validation and XSS flaws in Siemens Industrial Edge App Publisher let a network attacker impersonate the server and achieve code execution.
CISA republished a Siemens ProductCERT advisory (SSA-968435) describing two vulnerabilities in Siemens Industrial Edge App Publisher affecting versions prior to 1.27.9. The first, CVE-2026-78556, is an improper certificate validation issue; the second, CVE-2026-78557, is an improper neutralization of input during web page generation (cross-site scripting) flaw that allows rendering of unescaped data from backend responses. When chained, an attacker positioned on the network can impersonate the management server and leverage the application's Node.js integration to achieve remote code execution on the local machine.
No evidence of in-the-wild exploitation is noted in the advisory. Siemens has released an updated version and recommends all users update to the latest release. The combined CVSS v3 score for the vulnerability chain is 8.3. Affected deployments span Critical Manufacturing, Transportation Systems, Energy, Healthcare and Public Health, Financial Services, and Government Services and Facilities sectors worldwide, reflecting the broad deployment of Siemens Industrial Edge products.
Defenders should prioritize patching to version 1.27.9 or later, minimize network exposure of Industrial Edge App Publisher instances, isolate control system networks behind firewalls, and use secure remote access methods such as VPNs where remote connectivity is required. Standard ICS defense-in-depth practices apply given the network-adjacent attack vector described.

What this brief leaves out
This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries live profiles of the CVEs it names. The paid plans add the security research and news reporting the free tier leaves out.
It sits in a corpus of 13,989 reports from 143 sources, 543 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.
A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Slack alerts are a paid-plan feature: name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
