Schneider Modicon M340 DoS via FTP input validation

Input validation flaw in Schneider Modicon M340 communication modules allows unauthenticated denial of service via crafted FTP commands.
Schneider Electric has disclosed CVE-2025-6625, an improper input validation vulnerability (CWE-20) in the Modicon M340 programmable automation controller and multiple associated Ethernet communication modules. The flaw allows an unauthenticated attacker to trigger a denial of service by sending a specially crafted FTP command to affected devices, rendering them unavailable. The vulnerability affects the base Modicon M340 controller, M580 Global Data module, X80 Ethernet Communication modules, and Modbus/TCP Ethernet modules in versions prior to 3.60 (BMXNOE0100) and 6.80 (BMXNOE0110). Schneider has released firmware patches for identified product lines; however, several device types remain under remediation planning with no fix yet available.
No evidence of active exploitation in the wild is reported. FTP service is disabled by default on affected devices, significantly limiting attack surface. Organizations unable to immediately patch should disable FTP entirely, implement network segmentation to block unauthorized access to port 21, and restrict device access to trusted networks via firewall rules or VPN tunnels. Reboot is required to complete firmware upgrades when patches are deployed.

What this brief leaves out
This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.
It sits in a corpus of 13,854 reports from 146 sources, 616 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.
A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
