Qilin ransomware claims ADM compromise

high threat manufacturing

Free public brief. The indicators, the detections with Splunk SPL already written (plus Elastic and KQL where they apply), and a Slack alert the next time this touches a vendor you run are in the app — free account, no card.

Qilin ransomware operators claim compromise of agricultural company ADM with credential theft and data exfiltration.

Qilin ransomware operators have posted ADM (Archer Daniels Midland), a major agricultural commodities company, as a victim on their leak site. The posting indicates a significant compromise affecting at least 98 compromised employees, 96 compromised users, and 622 third-party employee credentials. The attackers claim to have obtained external attack surface information including 71 DNS records from the victim's domain. This represents a typical ransomware double-extortion attack combining data exfiltration with encryption threats. The posting is indexed on ransomware.live as public disclosure by the threat actors, consistent with pressure tactics used to compel ransom payment or data destruction demands.

For defenders in the affected organization and related entities, this disclosure indicates credential compromise at scale, suggesting potential lateral movement risks, supply-chain exposure through third-party credentials, and possible ongoing unauthorized access. The nature of the disclosure—public posting by ransomware operators—signals active adversarial intent to leverage the compromised data as part of extortion demands. Organizations should assume credential compromise and initiate incident response including credential rotation, forensic investigation of affected systems, and monitoring for post-compromise activity.

What this brief leaves out

This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.

It sits in a corpus of 13,854 reports from 146 sources, 616 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.

A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
