Microsoft's April 2025 security update includes CVE-2025-29824, which is being exploited in the wild and requires immediate patching.
On April 9, 2025, Microsoft published its monthly security update addressing multiple vulnerabilities across its product line. The Japanese Information-technology Promotion Agency (IPA) issued a security alert highlighting CVE-2025-29824 as a vulnerability already being exploited in active attacks. Microsoft has confirmed in-the-wild exploitation of this flaw, indicating that attackers are actively weaponizing it. Successful exploitation could lead to application crashes, remote code execution, or system compromise. IPA strongly recommends immediate deployment of the security patches.
The IPA advisory indicates that affected organizations using Windows systems should prioritize applying these updates without delay. Windows Update automatically delivers security patches, though system restarts may be required following installation. Organizations with centralized patch management should refer to Microsoft's official monthly security bulletin and deploy patches across their infrastructure as quickly as possible to mitigate active exploitation risk.

What this brief leaves out
This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.
It sits in a corpus of 13,854 reports from 146 sources, 616 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.
A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
