The FBI has released still images from the source video as part of Operation Rescue Me and the Endangered Child Alert Program, both focused on identifying victims and persons of interest in child sexual exploitation cases.

As of December 2, 2024, the FBI updated that John Doe 49 has been identified, located, and taken into custody. No charges had been filed at the time of the initial appeal, and the subject was presumed innocent.
