> CERT-FR advisory lists hundreds of Linux kernel flaws affecting all supported Ubuntu releases, enabling RCE, privilege escalation, and DoS; patches available.

CERT-FR published an advisory consolidating multiple Ubuntu Security Notices (USN-8875 through USN-8924 and related updates) addressing a very large number of Linux kernel vulnerabilities across all currently supported Ubuntu releases, including ESM versions 14.04, 16.04, 18.04 and 20.04, as well as 22.04 LTS, 24.04 LTS and the newer 26.04 LTS. The advisory does not describe a single exploited flaw but rather aggregates routine kernel patching across dozens of subsystems, consistent with Ubuntu's regular kernel update cadence.

Impacts described span the full range of kernel-level risk: remote code execution, privilege escalation, denial of service, information disclosure, data integrity compromise, and security policy bypass. No evidence of active in-the-wild exploitation is cited in the advisory; this is a routine patch bulletin rather than a report of ongoing attacks. Given the sheer scale of the CVE list (several hundred entries), most are low-to-moderate severity local kernel bugs typical of upstream kernel hardening work, though a subset could enable serious local privilege escalation or remote DoS on exposed systems.

Defenders running any Ubuntu LTS or ESM release should apply the referenced USN updates promptly, prioritizing systems with ESM support where extended patching is critical. No IOCs, threat actors, or active campaigns are associated with this advisory; it is a vendor-driven maintenance bulletin requiring standard patch management response.
