Two denial-of-service vulnerabilities in Rockwell Automation EN4TR communication modules can crash devices; upgrade to version 7.001 or later.

Rockwell Automation has released security updates addressing two denial-of-service vulnerabilities affecting 1756-EN4TR and 1756-EN4TRXT communication modules in versions 6.001 and prior. CVE-2025-8007 involves improper input validation where concurrent Forward Close operations trigger a Major Non-Recoverable fault, causing unexpected system crashes. CVE-2025-8008 stems from improper exception handling when specially crafted messages are sent during Forward Close operations, similarly resulting in device crashes and loss of availability.

Both vulnerabilities require local network access and carry CVSS v3 scores of 6.5 and v4 scores of 7.1. Neither is remotely exploitable, and CISA reports no known public exploitation in the wild at this time. The affected modules are deployed globally across chemical and critical manufacturing sectors. Rockwell Automation recommends immediate upgrade to version 7.001 or later, available from their website.

Defenders in affected sectors should prioritize patching these modules, as they support critical control system communications. Network segmentation and access controls remain essential in parallel with patching.

What this brief leaves out

This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.

It sits in a corpus of 13,853 reports from 146 sources, 616 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.

A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
