CISA KEV adds SonicWall, Microsoft flaws

high vulnerability government-national

CISA added four actively exploited vulnerabilities in SonicWall SMA1000 and Microsoft AD FS/SharePoint to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog.

CISA has expanded its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) Catalog with four new entries confirmed to be under active exploitation. Two affect SonicWall SMA1000 appliances—a server-side request forgery flaw (CVE-2026-15409) and a code injection vulnerability (CVE-2026-15410)—while the other two impact Microsoft products: an insufficient access control granularity issue in Active Directory Federation Services (CVE-2026-56155) and a missing authentication vulnerability in SharePoint Server (CVE-2026-56164).

The addition triggers remediation timelines under Binding Operational Directive (BOD) 26-04, which requires Federal Civilian Executive Branch agencies to prioritize patching of KEV-listed vulnerabilities on internet-facing assets, particularly those granting full post-exploitation control, and to check for prior compromise before patching. While the directive is binding only on FCEB agencies, CISA recommends all organizations using these products remediate promptly given confirmed in-the-wild exploitation.

No specific threat actors, malware, or campaigns are named in this advisory; it is a catalog update notice rather than an incident report. Organizations running SonicWall SMA1000 appliances or exposed AD FS/SharePoint Server deployments should treat these CVEs as high-priority patching targets.
