HPE StoreOnce RCE via chained vulnerability chain
Free public brief. The indicators, the detections with Splunk SPL already written (plus Elastic and KQL where they apply), and a Slack alert the next time this touches a vendor you run are in the app — free account, no card.
Multiple HPE StoreOnce flaws chain to enable remote code execution; no wild exploitation reported yet.
HPE has disclosed multiple vulnerabilities affecting StoreOnce Software versions prior to 4.3.11 that, when chained together, enable remote code execution and full system compromise. The affected software is a data protection platform using deduplication for backup storage. The vulnerability set includes four RCE flaws (CVE-2025-37089, CVE-2025-37091, CVE-2025-37092, CVE-2025-37096), server-side request forgery (CVE-2025-37090), authentication bypass (CVE-2025-37093), directory traversal with arbitrary file deletion (CVE-2025-37094), and directory traversal information disclosure (CVE-2025-37095). All are reachable as exploit-public-facing-application attacks requiring no prior authentication.
No active exploitation has been observed in the wild as of the advisory date. Organizations running StoreOnce for backup and recovery operations should prioritize patching to version 4.3.11 or later immediately, as the chaining of these flaws presents a complete compromise vector. Defenders should apply updates after testing, implement network segmentation to isolate backup appliances, enforce least-privilege account practices, and conduct vulnerability scans to identify affected instances.

What this brief leaves out
This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.
It sits in a corpus of 13,854 reports from 146 sources, 616 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.
A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
