FBI, Thai Police Target Pig Butchering Scam Compounds

FBI and Royal Thai Police are dismantling Southeast Asian scam compounds behind pig-butchering and romance fraud that cost Americans billions annually.

The DOJ's Scam Center Strike Force, established in November, has frozen or seized over $580 million in cryptocurrency tied to these networks. Recent joint task force operations seized more than 8,000 phones and 1,300 hard drives, and Meta separately disabled over 150,000 accounts linked to scam center networks.
