SonicWall NSM On-Prem RCE Flaws Patched
Free public brief. The indicators, the detections with Splunk SPL already written (plus Elastic and KQL where they apply), and a Slack alert the next time this touches a vendor you run are in the app — free account, no card.
CERT-FR warns of two vulnerabilities in SonicWall Network Security Manager On-Prem enabling remote code execution and security bypass; patch to 4.4.0.
CERT-FR issued an advisory covering two vulnerabilities (CVE-2026-100232 and CVE-2026-96540) affecting SonicWall Network Security Manager (NSM) On-Prem editions running on VMWare, Hyper-V, Azure and KVM, versions prior to 4.4.0. The flaws allow an attacker to achieve remote arbitrary code execution and to bypass security policy controls on the affected management platform.
No evidence of active exploitation is mentioned in the bulletin. SonicWall published the corresponding security advisory (SNWLID-2026-0018) on 14 October 2026 with patches addressing both CVEs. Defenders operating SonicWall NSM On-Prem should upgrade to version 4.4.0 or later as soon as possible, given NSM's role as a centralized security management platform whose compromise could affect downstream policy enforcement across managed SonicWall devices.

What this brief leaves out
This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.
It sits in a corpus of 13,854 reports from 146 sources, 614 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.
A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
