Samsung HVAC DMS multiple RCE vulnerabilities

routine vulnerability manufacturinginfrastructure

Free public brief. The indicators, the detections with Splunk SPL already written (plus Elastic and KQL where they apply), and a Slack alert the next time this touches a vendor you run are in the app — free account, no card.

Six vulnerabilities in Samsung HVAC DMS allow unauthenticated remote code execution and arbitrary file operations; no public exploitation reported.

CISA published an advisory on Samsung HVAC DMS, a software management platform for HVAC systems deployed across commercial facilities and critical manufacturing worldwide. Six vulnerabilities spanning versions 2.0.0 through 2.9.3.5 allow unauthenticated remote code execution via deserialization of untrusted data and execution-after-redirect flaws, plus authenticated and network-restricted arbitrary file creation and deletion via path traversal. The most critical issue (CVE-2025-53078) is a deserialization flaw permitting arbitrary code execution through file write operations; CVE-2025-53077 allows unauthenticated limited-privilege execution. Four additional CVEs enable file read, creation, and deletion by authenticated or local-network-restricted attackers. CVSS v4 scores range from 6.1 to 7.5.

Samsung states the product is not intended for internet connection and should operate on isolated dedicated networks only. No active exploitation in the wild has been reported to CISA, though the vendor notes high attack complexity on some vectors. Claroty Team82 reported all six flaws. Mitigations include applying vendor updates via Samsung support and network isolation; CISA recommends control-system defense-in-depth practices including firewall segmentation, VPN for remote access, and restricted internet exposure.

Path Traversal Sequences in Web Request Targeting File Operations

ATT&CK T1190

Detects successful web requests containing directory traversal sequences, the pattern behind arbitrary file read/create/delete flaws in management web apps such as Samsung HVAC DMS. Auto-generated starting point — validate and tune in your environment before deploying. IOC matches can false-positive on shared infrastructure and decay as adversary infrastructure rotates.

query that return HTTP 200. Matches the path traversal file creation, deletion and
read primitives described for HVAC DMS-style management web apps. Tune by scoping
  to the affected management server.

Java or Web Server Process Spawning Command Shell

ATT&CK T1190

Detects Java application servers or IIS workers spawning command interpreters, typical post-exploitation of deserialization or file-write RCE in web-facing management platforms. Auto-generated starting point — validate and tune in your environment before deploying. IOC matches can false-positive on shared infrastructure and decay as adversary infrastructure rotates.

Web or Java Server Process Launching Download Utility

ATT&CK T1105

Detects Java or web server processes launching download tools or download cradles, indicating tool transfer after exploiting a public-facing application. Auto-generated starting point — validate and tune in your environment before deploying. IOC matches can false-positive on shared infrastructure and decay as adversary infrastructure rotates.

What this brief leaves out

This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.

It sits in a corpus of 13,854 reports from 146 sources, 616 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.

A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
