> International operation shut down a EUR 336 million cryptocurrency laundering pipeline used by ransomware gangs and cybercriminals.

Law enforcement from the United States, Poland, and EU member states dismantled AudiA6, an industrial-scale cryptocurrency laundering service that washed over EUR 336 million between 2022 and 2025. The operation, coordinated on 10 June, resulted in the arrest of two alleged administrators (Ukrainian and Russian nationals) in Georgia, seizure of 25 domains and over 30 servers, and freezing of EUR 692,000 in cryptocurrency. The service operated as a professional cryptocurrency mixer marketed on underground forums, charging 3-10% commissions to clean stolen digital assets through thousands of fraudulent exchange accounts opened using stolen or purchased identities. AudiA6 operators also administered Dark2Web, a dark web cybercrime forum connecting criminal actors worldwide. Europol analysis linked the service to over 15 international investigations involving ransomware attacks and large-scale cryptocurrency theft. The investigation identified over 6,000 KYC records tied to money mule accounts, with many connected to Russian-speaking intermediaries. The takedown reflects a broader law enforcement focus on the professionalisation of cryptocurrency laundering services that enable the cybercrime ecosystem, including ransomware-as-a-service operations seeking to cash out criminal proceeds while evading anti-money laundering controls.
