CERT-FR Details IBM Multi-Product Patch Bundle

elevated vulnerability technology

Free public brief. The indicators, the detections with Splunk SPL already written (plus Elastic and KQL where they apply), and a Slack alert the next time this touches a vendor you run are in the app — free account, no card.

CERT-FR advisory lists over 150 vulnerabilities across IBM Db2, QRadar SIEM, QRadar UBA and Sterling External Authentication Server requiring patching.

CERT-FR has published a consolidated advisory covering multiple vulnerabilities disclosed by IBM across several product lines: DB2 Recovery Expert (versions prior to 12.1), Db2 (versions 11.5 and 12.1 missing specific APAR fixes), QRadar SIEM for Microsoft Azure Event Hubs (7.5 and 7.6 protocol packages), QRadar User Behavior Analytics (prior to 6.0.1), Security QRadar Log Management AQL Plugin (prior to 1.1.9), and Sterling External Authentication Server (6.1.x prior to 6.1.1.5). The advisory aggregates over 150 CVEs spanning a wide range of impact types, including remote code execution, privilege escalation, remote denial of service, data integrity and confidentiality compromise, security policy bypass, SSRF, reflected XSS, and CSRF.

Given the breadth of products and the large CVE count, this is best treated as a routine but important patch cycle for organizations running any of the affected IBM products. No evidence of active exploitation in the wild is mentioned in the advisory. Defenders operating Db2, QRadar deployments (especially those integrated with Azure Event Hubs or using the AQL plugin/UBA module), DB2 Recovery Expert, or Sterling External Authentication Server should consult the ten linked IBM security bulletins (published between October 2 and October 8, 2026) to identify which CVEs apply to their specific deployed versions and apply the corresponding APARs or patched RPM packages.

As this is a multi-CVE vendor bulletin without a single unifying exploit chain or confirmed in-the-wild activity, organizations should prioritize patching based on exposure: internet-facing QRadar and Sterling EAS instances carrying RCE-capable flaws warrant the fastest turnaround, while internal Db2 and DB2 Recovery Expert instances can be scheduled within normal patch management cycles.

What this brief leaves out

This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.

It sits in a corpus of 13,854 reports from 146 sources, 616 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.

A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
