Qilin ransomware claims Thai Lion Air breach
Free public brief. The indicators, the detections with Splunk SPL already written (plus Elastic and KQL where they apply), and a Slack alert the next time this touches a vendor you run are in the app — free account, no card.
Qilin ransomware gang claims to have breached Thai Lion Air, reporting compromised employee credentials and external attack surface.
Qilin ransomware operators have publicly claimed a breach of Thai Lion Air, a Thai-based airline operator. According to the posting indexed on ransomware.live, the claimed compromise involved 75 compromised employees, 6,685 compromised user accounts, and 31 third-party employee credentials. The attackers also identified 129 external-facing systems across the victim's attack surface. This represents a typical ransomware gang disclosure: the threat actors claim data exfiltration and threaten publication or sale unless a ransom is paid. Thai Lion Air operates commercial aviation services and would fall within the transportation and critical infrastructure sectors. The disclosure follows the pattern of human-operated ransomware attacks that combine reconnaissance, lateral movement, data theft, and encryption threats.

Privileged Account and Domain Group Enumeration via Net Commands
Detects net.exe/net1.exe enumerating privileged domain groups or domain users, a common account discovery step in human-operated ransomware intrusions before data theft and encryption. Auto-generated starting point — validate and tune in your environment before deploying. IOC matches can false-positive on shared infrastructure and decay as adversary infrastructure rotates.
title: Privileged Account and Domain Group Enumeration via Net Commands
description: Detects net.exe or net1.exe querying privileged domain groups (Domain
Admins, Enterprise Admins, etc.) or listing domain users. This is account discovery
typical of human-operated ransomware precursor activity. Matches the command pattern,
not any campaign-specific artefact.

What this brief leaves out
This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.
It sits in a corpus of 13,854 reports from 146 sources, 616 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.
A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
