> Oracle Java SE contains critical vulnerabilities requiring immediate patching; affected versions must be updated to latest releases.

The Japanese IPA (Information-Processing Promotion Agency) issued a security alert on April 17, 2024, regarding multiple vulnerabilities in Oracle Java SE, including CVE-2023-41993. Oracle has classified these as high-impact vulnerabilities that warrant urgent remediation. The alert advises organizations to apply patches to all supported Oracle Java SE versions as soon as possible.

The advisory emphasizes that all supported Oracle Java SE products are affected and recommends updating to the latest versions provided by Oracle. The IPA notes that organizations should verify licensing implications, particularly regarding commercial use, as Oracle changed its licensing model for Java releases from April 16, 2019 onwards.
