Rockwell FactoryTalk Action Manager API token exposure

Local unauthenticated attacker can intercept reusable API token from FactoryTalk Action Manager via WebSocket, gaining elevated access.
Rockwell Automation has disclosed a vulnerability in FactoryTalk Action Manager versions 1.0.0 to 1.01 that exposes API tokens to local unauthenticated attackers. The runtime event system broadcasts reusable API tokens over an unprotected WebSocket connection, allowing any local client listening on the connection to intercept credentials and manipulate the device. The vulnerability is assigned CVE-2025-9036 with a CVSS v4 score of 8.5 and requires local access and user interaction. No remote exploitation is possible. CISA reports no known public exploitation to date. The vulnerability affects critical infrastructure sectors including chemical, energy, manufacturing, food and agriculture, transportation, and water utilities worldwide.
Rockwell recommends upgrading to version 1.01 or later. For organizations unable to patch, CISA advises minimizing network exposure, placing control systems behind firewalls, isolating from business networks, and using VPNs for remote access where necessary. The vulnerability is not remotely exploitable, limiting attack surface to local network threats.

What this brief leaves out
This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.
It sits in a corpus of 13,854 reports from 146 sources, 616 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.
A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
