> Microsoft released January 2025 security updates; three CVEs are confirmed exploited in the wild and need immediate patching.

On January 15, 2025, Microsoft published its monthly security update bulletin. The IPA (Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan) security alert identifies three vulnerabilities—CVE-2025-21333, CVE-2025-21334, and CVE-2025-21335—that Microsoft has confirmed are actively exploited in the wild. Exploitation of these flaws can result in application crashes, system compromise, or remote code execution allowing attackers to take control of affected systems. The IPA advises immediate application of patches through Windows Update, which typically handles security updates automatically. Organizations managing centralized updates should deploy these patches urgently given active exploitation.
