> Hardcoded credentials in PUSR Wi-Fi converter firmware allow unauthenticated administrator access to industrial devices.

Jinan USR IOT Technology Limited's USR-W610 RS232/485 to Wi-Fi/Ethernet Converter (version 7.03T.07) contains plaintext administrative credentials embedded directly in the device firmware. An attacker with access to the firmware image can extract these credentials and use them to authenticate to device services with administrator privileges, potentially gaining full control of the converter and any connected industrial control systems.

The affected device is deployed worldwide in critical manufacturing infrastructure. CISA reports no known public exploitation of this vulnerability at the time of disclosure. The vendor did not respond to CISA's coordination attempts, so no firmware patch is currently available. Defenders should treat this as a hardcoded-credential vulnerability requiring network isolation and access controls rather than relying on vendor remediation.

Mitigation focuses on network segmentation: ensure the device is not internet-accessible, place it behind firewalls, isolate industrial control networks from business networks, and require VPN with multi-factor authentication for any required remote access. Organizations should perform impact analysis before applying mitigations to avoid disrupting critical manufacturing operations.
