Fortinet FortiSandbox auth bypass flaw patched

routine vulnerability technology

Free public brief. The indicators, the detections with Splunk SPL already written (plus Elastic and KQL where they apply), and a Slack alert the next time this touches a vendor you run are in the app — free account, no card.

Fortinet fixed a critical authentication bypass in FortiSandbox web management allowing unauthenticated remote code execution; CVSS 9.8.

NCSC-NL published an advisory covering three vulnerabilities patched by Fortinet in FortiSandbox. The most severe, CVE-2026-107656 (CVSS 9.8), is an authentication bypass in the FortiSandbox web management interface. An unauthenticated attacker can send specially crafted HTTP requests to bypass authentication and execute unauthorized code or commands, making this a critical risk for any internet- or network-exposed FortiSandbox management interface.

Two additional medium-severity issues were also addressed: CVE-2026-106172, a hard-coded cryptographic key in the Fabric API that could allow an unauthenticated attacker to gain elevated privileges, and CVE-2026-106170, an uncaught exception that a privileged attacker could exploit to persistently disrupt GUI and CLI functionality.

Fortinet has released updates to remediate all three vulnerabilities, with corresponding update or migration guidance for FortiSandbox PaaS deployments. No in-the-wild exploitation is mentioned in the advisory. Defenders running FortiSandbox should prioritize patching, especially given the unauthenticated, pre-auth nature of the critical bypass, and restrict management interface exposure as a compensating control where immediate patching is not possible.

What this brief leaves out

This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.

It sits in a corpus of 13,854 reports from 146 sources, 616 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.

A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
