CERT-FR Advisory: Multiple Elastic Product Flaws

routine vulnerability technology

Free public brief. The indicators, the detections with Splunk and KQL already written, and a Slack alert the next time this touches a vendor you run are in the app — free account, no card.

CERT-FR warns of multiple vulnerabilities in Elasticsearch, Kibana and Elastic Agent enabling privilege escalation, data exposure and security bypass; patches available.

CERT-FR has published an advisory covering multiple vulnerabilities across Elastic's product suite, including Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Elastic Agent. The flaws affect various version branches (8.19.x, 9.x, and 9.5.x prior to specific patched releases) and collectively allow attackers to achieve privilege escalation, data integrity compromise, confidentiality breaches, security policy bypass, and remote denial of service. Fourteen CVEs are referenced (CVE-2026-102404 through CVE-2026-102413 and CVE-2026-103005 through CVE-2026-103009), each addressed in one of several Elastic security bulletins published on 6 October 2026.

No indication is given in the advisory that these vulnerabilities are currently being exploited in the wild; this is a standard vendor-patch notification relayed by the French national CERT. Defenders running affected Elastic Stack components should consult the referenced Elastic security bulletins (ESA-2026-185 through ESA-2026-199) for CVE-specific details and apply the corresponding patched versions: Elastic Agent 9.5.5/9.4.8/8.19.22, Elasticsearch 9.5.5/9.4.8/8.19.23, and Kibana 9.5.5/9.4.8/8.19.22 (or later as specified per bulletin).

Organizations operating Elastic Stack deployments, particularly those exposed to untrusted networks or used for centralized logging and SIEM functions, should prioritize patching given the range of impacts including privilege escalation and data confidentiality loss. No exploit code or in-the-wild activity is mentioned in this advisory.

What this brief leaves out

This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections with the Splunk SPL and Microsoft KQL already written, the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.

It sits in a corpus of 10,945 reports from 148 sources, 471 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.

A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
