Siemens Software Center DLL flaw exploited
Free public brief. Slack alerts on the vendors you run come with the paid plans, and a new account gets three days of them, no card.
A DLL search-path hijacking bug in Siemens Software Center below 4.0.9.8 is under active exploitation, letting local attackers run arbitrary code.
CISA republished a Siemens ProductCERT advisory (SSA-580366) describing CVE-2026-110936, an uncontrolled search path element (DLL hijacking) vulnerability in Siemens Software Center versions prior to 4.0.9.8. An authenticated local attacker can place a malicious DLL in a directory searched by the application, achieving arbitrary code execution with the privileges of the application process. CVSS v3 base score is 6.7, reflecting the local attack vector and authentication requirement, but Siemens and CISA note that active exploitation of this flaw is known and reference a Siemens blog post with detection guidance, which elevates the practical urgency beyond the base score.
Siemens Software Center is deployed worldwide across critical infrastructure sectors including critical manufacturing, transportation, energy, healthcare, financial services and government facilities. Siemens has released a fixed version (4.0.9.8 or later) and recommends organizations update immediately. Defenders should prioritize patching affected installations, monitor for unauthorized DLL placement in application search paths, and apply standard ICS network segmentation and defense-in-depth practices (isolating control system networks, restricting remote access via VPN) while confirming no unpatched instances remain exposed to untrusted local users.

What this brief leaves out
This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries live profiles of the CVEs it names. The paid plans add the security research and news reporting the free tier leaves out.
It sits in a corpus of 13,989 reports from 143 sources, 543 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.
A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Slack alerts are a paid-plan feature: name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
