TheGentlemen group lists Campbell Rhea victim

high threat manufacturing

Free public brief. The indicators, the detections with Splunk SPL already written (plus Elastic and KQL where they apply), and a Slack alert the next time this touches a vendor you run are in the app — free account, no card.

Ransomware group TheGentlemen claims US lab-casework manufacturer Campbell Rhea (Institutional Casework Inc.) as a victim on its leak site.

Ransomware.live has indexed a new victim listing attributed to the ransomware group known as "TheGentlemen," naming Campbell Rhea (legal entity Institutional Casework, Inc.) as the target. Campbell Rhea is a Tennessee-based manufacturer of laboratory and educational casework, fume hoods, and athletic lockers, with roughly 250 employees and $32.1M in 2025 revenue, serving clients including Penn State, UC Davis, and Vanderbilt. The entry records an estimated attack date of 2026-10-14 and discovery on 2026-10-16, consistent with a typical double-extortion leak-site posting.

The listing contains no technical intrusion details, no malware artifacts, exploited vulnerability, or exfiltrated data samples — only company background and public DNS records (SPF/mail routing via arsmtp.com and easydmarc.pro, both third-party email security/DMARC services, not evidence of compromise). No cloud/SaaS footprint was identified by the scanner. As with most ransomware.live entries, this is a victim notification rather than technical threat research; defenders in the manufacturing sector, and specifically peers of Campbell Rhea, should treat this as a signal that TheGentlemen group remains active against mid-size US manufacturers, but no IOCs, TTPs, or CVEs are disclosed to act on directly.

Recommended action for defenders is to monitor TheGentlemen's leak site for data disclosure, review third-party/vendor exposure if business relationships exist with Campbell Rhea, and maintain standard ransomware hardening (backup isolation, EDR coverage, phishing/initial-access monitoring) given the group's continued targeting of the manufacturing sector.

What this brief leaves out

This page is the free tier: the write-up, the severity, the names. In the app the same report carries its extracted indicators, its detections (Splunk SPL already written, plus Elastic and Microsoft KQL where they apply), the actors and CVEs it names as live profiles, and the vendor research on the same campaign — the primary source the news paraphrased, cited and read directly.

It sits in a corpus of 13,854 reports from 146 sources, 614 of them written in the last seven days, and it grows through the day.

A new account starts with three days of all of it, no card, then keeps the government and CERT reporting free. Name the vendors you run and Slack hears about the reports that touch them — about forty a week that are yours, not the four hundred that are not.
